Technical Specialist - Underground Systems & Environmental Control

A global industrial operation is seeking a Technical Specialist to support the design, optimisation, and long-term performance of critical underground systems.

This role is suited to an experienced engineer with strong analytical capability and a deep understanding of subsurface environments, who can combine technical expertise with practical, site-based application.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in ensuring that underground systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with operational requirements.

The position combines technical design, system optimisation, project involvement, and team development, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational performance.

What You'll Be Doing
* Develop and optimise strategies for managing environmental conditions in underground environments
* Design and review system layouts, equipment selection, and operational controls
* Analyse performance data and implement improvements to system efficiency
* Support medium- and long-term planning of underground infrastructure
* Lead technical investigations and provide solutions to operational challenges
* Contribute to capital projects, including scope definition, cost input, and execution support
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, and support functions
* Support implementation of monitoring and control systems
* Provide mentorship and technical guidance to site teams
* Ensure alignment with safety, environmental, and operational standards
