Compliance Lead (Master Installation Electrician) - Solar PV C&I

A leading Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar energy provider is seeking an experienced Master Installation Electrician to take ownership of electrical compliance, technical governance, and statutory adherence across large‑scale solar PV projects. This senior leadership role is critical in ensuring that all installations meet South African regulatory, safety, and grid‑connection standards while maintaining the highest levels of workmanship and quality.

Role Overview

The Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring that all C&I solar PV systems are designed, installed, tested, commissioned, and maintained in full compliance with:

SANS 10142‑1NRS 097 seriesOHS Act & Electrical Installation RegulationsRelevant IEC PV standards

You will act as the organisation's senior registered electrical authority, providing installation sign‑off, governance oversight, and technical leadership across multiple projects and EPC partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the organisation's PV Compliance FrameworkLead compliance audits across project sites, EPCs, and subcontractorsOversee method statements, SOPs, commissioning quality plans, and test documentationMaintain internal standards aligned to evolving SANS, NRS, and IEC regulationsProvidesign‑off on:Installation quality and workmanshipTest and inspection resultsCertificates of Compliance (COCs)As‑built drawings and commissioning packsLead root‑cause analysis of non‑conformances, failures, or safety incidentsOversee electrical design compliance reviews (DC, AC, protection, earthing, lightning)Approve inverter configurations, protection grading, and grid‑integration principlesEnsure all equipment meets IEC/SANS certification requirementsAct as primary compliance liaison with:Municipal electrical departmentsUtilities and grid authoritiesClients, consulting engineers, auditors, and project managersLead compliance‑related meetings, FAT/SATs, inspections, and sign‑off processesEnsure legal compliance with OHS Act, Electrical Installation Regulations, and Construction RegulationsOversee lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO), safe switching, and site electrical safety systemsTrain, assess, and mentor electrical teams and supervisors

Minimum Requirements:

Mandatory Qualifications

Red Seal Trade Test - Electrician (Section 26D)Registered Master Installation Electrician (Department of Employment & Labour)Valid Wireman's Licence with authority to issue and sign COCsRecognised PV/SSEG installer certification (SAPVIA PV GreenCard, EWSETA, or equivalent)

Experience

7-10+ years' electrical installation experienceMinimum 5 years in commercial or industrial solar PVProven leadership on C&I solar projects >500 kWpExpert knowledge of:SANS 10142‑1NRS 097 SeriesIEC PV standardsLV/MV system integrationStrong ability to interpret electrical drawings, protection schemes, and layoutsHigh‑quality technical writing skills (audits, reports, compliance documentation) Read less

A well-established player in the commercial and industrial renewable energy space is looking to appoint a Sales Engineer into a client-focused, growth-driven environment. This business has built its reputation on long-term partnerships and high-performing energy solutions across Southern Africa, with a strong focus on delivering measurable value to its clients.

This is not a traditional sales role. It sits at the intersection of technical insight and commercial strategy, playing a key role in expanding value within an existing client portfolio.

The opportunity:

This role is centred around unlocking additional value across an established customer base. You will work closely with client relationship teams, engineering, and operations to identify opportunities for optimisation, expansion, and new deployments. Using performance data and system insights, you will translate technical findings into clear commercial opportunities, supporting both revenue growth and long-term client retention.

A big part of this role is bridging the gap between technical and commercial teams, ensuring that complex system insights are translated into practical, value-driven solutions that clients understand and trust.

What you'll be doing:

Identifying and driving up-sell, cross-sell, and optimisation opportunities within an existing portfolioAnalysing system performance data to uncover additional savings, upgrades, and expansion potentialIdentifying new deployment opportunities across multiple sites within existing client portfoliosTranslating technical performance insights into clear commercial proposals and business casesSupporting solution design, including system sizing, yield assessments, and high-level modellingWorking closely with engineering, operations, and monitoring teams to validate and execute opportunitiesEnsuring accurate tracking of opportunities and technical data within CRM systemsMaintaining alignment with relevant standards, compliance requirements, and internal processes

What we're looking for:

A degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field3-5 years' experience in a sales engineering, pre-sales, or technical-commercial environmentSolid exposure to Solar PV and ideally battery storage systemsStrong ability to interpret data and translate it into commercial valueComfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
