The position combines electrical engineering, renewable energy project development, project management, technical design, client engagement and business development. The successful candidate will be involved across the complete project lifecycle, from feasibility and conceptual development through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering

Provide technical leadership and oversight on renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects.Lead feasibility studies, conceptual designs, detailed engineering and technical due diligence.Review and approve renewable energy system designs, calculations, specifications and engineering deliverables.Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, standards, regulations, grid codes and engineering best practice.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, technologists and graduate engineers.Drive innovation and adoption of emerging renewable energy technologies.

Renewable Energy Project Development

Project Management & Delivery

Electrical Design & Grid Integration

Lead the design and integration of MV, HV and EHV electrical systems associated with renewable energy facilities.Perform grid integration, power system analysis, protection coordination and network assessments.Develop and review single-line diagrams, protection philosophies, equipment specifications and electrical layouts.Support optimal integration of renewable generation assets into utility and private electrical networks.Utilise industry-standard engineering software for electrical modelling and renewable energy assessments.

Construction, Commissioning & Operational Support

Provide engineering support throughout procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning.Conduct site inspections, FATs, SATs and commissioning activities.Resolve technical challenges during construction and commissioning.Ensure operational readiness and long-term reliability of renewable energy systems.

Commercial & Cost Management

Prepare and review capital cost estimates, operating cost assessments and financial models.Evaluate contractor and supplier proposals from technical and commercial perspectives.Support procurement activities, contract negotiations and contract administration.Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value engineering.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be responsible for driving operational performance, profitability, continuous improvement and organisational capability across multiple manufacturing functions.

The Opportunity:

As a member of the executive leadership team, you will develop and execute the manufacturing strategy, ensuring operational excellence across production, engineering, quality, supply chain and continuous improvement.

This role requires a commercially minded leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution while building a culture focused on safety, accountability, innovation and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Executive Leadership

Develop and execute the manufacturing strategy in support of business growth and long-term objectives.Lead a large, multidisciplinary manufacturing operation, driving a high-performance culture across all functions.Partner with the executive team to deliver strategic initiatives and operational excellence.Build leadership capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.

Operational Excellence

Drive productivity, efficiency and operational performance across the manufacturing business.Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, throughput and profitability.Champion operational excellence through data-driven decision-making and performance management.Oversee manufacturing planning, production execution and customer delivery performance.

Commercial & Financial Performance

Take full accountability for operational budgets, cost management and manufacturing profitability.Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste and optimise operational costs.Monitor key business metrics and implement strategies that support sustainable financial performance.

Transformation & Innovation

Lead operational transformation initiatives, including automation and digital manufacturing improvements.Drive the adoption of modern manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.Foster a culture of innovation that supports long-term operational competitiveness.

Governance, Safety & Quality

Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality and regulatory compliance.Lead risk management initiatives and strengthen operational governance.Promote a workplace culture built on accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.

About You:

Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or a related Engineering discipline.Postgraduate qualification in Business, Engineering Management or a related field will be advantageous.Extensive senior leadership experience within complex manufacturing environments.Proven success leading operational transformation, productivity improvement and manufacturing excellence initiatives.Strong commercial acumen with accountability for operational performance, profitability and cost management.Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing large multidisciplinary teams.Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, operational excellence and continuous improvement principles.

* Ensure efficient management and execution of Condition Monitoring feedback.
* Ensure efficient resource management to ensure they can meet the performance objectives
required of them.
* Ensure client satisfaction by delivering a professional and high-quality service.
* Maintain and assist in the compilation of internal and external maintenance reports and provide
detailed feedback during maintenance and production review meetings.
* Assist, guide and control best practice in terms of Root Cause analysis.
* Implementation, control and management of SLA's, where required.
* Control and update of critical controls as needed.
* Ensure Continuous improvement process with reference to maintenance plans, procedures and
activities.
* Adherence to and control of Management of Change (MOC) principles.
* Ensure adherence to disciplinary code and deal with corrective action where needed.
