The OpportunityA leading provider of specialised engineering and technology solutions is seeking a commercially minded Sales Consultant to support business growth across selected African markets. This role is suited to an ambitious individual who combines technical understanding with a passion for developing customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
Working closely with the sales leadership team, the successful candidate will help expand market presence by promoting a portfolio of technical solutions to customers operating within infrastructure, natural resources, engineering, and related industries.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities across assigned territories.Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and industry stakeholders.Manage opportunities from initial engagement through to quotation, negotiation, order placement, and after-sales support.Prepare commercial proposals and solution recommendations that address customer requirements.Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer meetings both remotely and on-site.Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, pipeline opportunities, and forecasts.Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.Collaborate with technical, operations, and support teams to ensure seamless customer delivery.Represent the business at exhibitions, conferences, and networking events throughout the region.Travel regularly within Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa to support customers and expand the client base.Candidate RequirementsQualification in Surveying, Geomatics, GIS, Civil Engineering, Mining, or another related technical field.Around one to three years' experience within a technical, engineering, infrastructure, mining, or geospatial environment.Exposure to customer engagement, account management, technical support, or commercial activities would be advantageous.Ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into practical solutions.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Commercial awareness with an interest in developing a career in technical sales.Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM software.Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.A proactive, organised, and self-driven approach to work.
