Tax Manager - Real Estate
The Opportunity
I'm currently representing a well-established, growing public accounting firm in New York City that is looking to add an experienced Tax Manager with a strong Real Estate focus to its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who wants to take the next step in their career while working closely with real estate-focused clients and business owners. The role combines technical tax expertise with significant client interaction, engagement leadership, team development, and opportunities to contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review tax engagements for a variety of real estate and privately held clients
- Oversee the preparation and review of partnership, individual, S-Corporation and C-Corporation tax returns
- Provide clients with tax planning, compliance and advisory support
- Research complex federal and state tax matters and communicate recommendations clearly
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout engagements
- Manage engagement timelines, budgets, staffing and overall delivery
- Review work prepared by Seniors and Associates and provide coaching and technical guidance
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and introduce additional services
- Participate in business development and relationship-building activities
- Work collaboratively with other service lines to provide a comprehensive approach to client needs
- Assist with developing and mentoring junior members of the tax team
Ideal Background
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years of public accounting tax experience
- At least 1 year of experience operating at a Manager level
- Strong experience working with real estate clients
- Experience with partnership and flow-through taxation
- Strong technical research and tax-planning capabilities
- Excellent client communication and relationship-management skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance or a related discipline
- CPA or equivalent credential preferred
- Master's in Taxation is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $111,800 - $169,800, depending on experience and qualifications.
