Subcontracting Coordinator

We are recruiting an experienced Subcontracting Coordinator for an international equipment supplier serving the power and heat generation industries.

Working within the Procurement Department, you will coordinate outsourced manufacturing activities and manage supplier relationships once contracts have been signed. You will act as the main point of contact between suppliers and internal engineering, design, quality, logistics and project teams, ensuring equipment is delivered on schedule, within budget and according to specifications.

The scope includes manufactured equipment such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, steel structures, insulated casings, stacks and prefabricated pipe spools.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate outsourced production activities, monitoring progress against agreed schedules, budgets and technical specifications.

  • Monitor and expedite supplier manufacturing processes, working with a Manufacturing Supervisor where applicable.

  • Review supplier progress reports, identify potential delays and coordinate corrective action.

  • Arrange inspection points with the Quality Control team in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans.

  • Coordinate logistics activities with the internal Logistics team.

  • Work closely with buyers and engineering, design and quality teams to resolve supplier queries.

  • Track the timely delivery of documentation and materials.

  • Process and report complaints relating to defects reported by the receiving party.

  • Maintain administrative records, share progress information and prepare logistics activities in the ERP system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree/HBO qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Several years of experience in a similar role within the energy, oil and gas or petrochemical industry.

  • Knowledge of contracts, quality requirements and quality standards.

  • Experience with international equipment supply and the manufacturing processes relevant to the equipment listed above.

  • Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English.

  • Confidence using software systems, including ERP systems.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to maintain an overview of multiple supplier activities.

  • An accurate, assertive approach to resolving issues and following up on commitments.

  • Familiarity with international working practices and cultures.

  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.
