Workshop Supervisor - Namibia

Our client is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to organise, oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of a fabrication workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, plan, train and supervise workshop personnel, including Pipe Fitters, Welders, Mechanical Fitters and semi-skilled employees.Allocate labour and workshop resources according to project requirements and workload.Monitor production and welding progress, productivity, quality and labour utilisation.Establish work plans and ensure tasks are completed within required timeframes.Troubleshoot fabrication issues and work with Quality and other team members to identify defects, causes and solutions.Interpret client specifications and manufacturing codes.Manage fabrication planning and method statements.Monitor labour hours, workshop equipment and resource utilisation.Implement Quality Control Plan requirements and maintain required quality standards.Ensure safe working conditions, good housekeeping and compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.Supervise workshop servicing, maintenance and repairs.Identify equipment upgrade and improvement requirements.Provide hands-on technical guidance, training, mentoring and development to workshop personnel.Support Project Engineers and Project Managers with production activities.Manage performance, resolve workplace issues and provide guidance to workshop personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

Relevant trade test.Minimum 5 years' experience in the manufacturing of heavy steel structures and pipework.Proven experience in a managerial or workshop supervisory position.Strong fabrication experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes.Practical experience with production and planning systems within a fabrication workshop.Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.Strong planning, organising, technical and problem-solving skills.MS Office proficiency.English and Afrikaans language skills.
