An established engineering organisation is seeking an experienced E&I Engineer to deliver innovative electrical, control and instrumentation solutions across a diverse portfolio of industrial projects.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in electrical engineering, instrumentation, automation and project execution who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges from concept through commissioning. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you'll provide technical leadership while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest engineering standards.

The Opportunity
As the E&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, specification, implementation and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems across a range of industrial projects.
Working closely with project teams, clients, suppliers and contractors, you'll provide specialist engineering support throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring technical excellence, operational reliability and successful project delivery.
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver technically sound engineering solutions, support project execution and contribute to continuous improvement across engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Design, develop and specify electrical, control and instrumentation systems for industrial applications.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering documentation and system designs.
- Develop practical, reliable and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, quality requirements and project specifications.
Project Delivery
- Support projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover.
- Coordinate engineering activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.
- Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Assist with project planning, reporting, budgeting and cost control.
Technical Support & Commissioning
- Configure, troubleshoot and optimise PLC-based control systems.
- Support instrumentation specification, calibration and fault diagnosis.
- Participate in plant commissioning, testing and system optimisation activities.
- Investigate technical issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support procurement activities and manage supplier and subcontractor relationships.
- Build strong professional relationships that contribute to successful project delivery.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional development and stay current with emerging technologies and industry standards.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and the ongoing development of engineering capability within the business.
About You
We're looking for an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical capability with excellent problem-solving, project management and communication skills.
You will bring:
- A qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional registration, or eligibility to obtain professional registration, will be advantageous.
- Experience delivering electrical and instrumentation solutions within industrial or project environments.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, instrumentation, industrial communication networks and control systems.
- Experience with plant commissioning, fault finding and system optimisation.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, PFDs and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
