Our client, a well-established multinational OEM servicing the mining and heavy industrial sectors, is looking to appoint a Cost Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, this is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong manufacturing costing experience to join a global market leader.

Position: Cost Accountant

Location: Johannesburg, Eastrand

Qualifications: Cost & Management Diploma, CIMA, similar

A minimum of 5 years of experience in costing role

Engineering, Manufacturing of heavy machinery (equipment)

Multi-National experience (beneficial)

Salary: R600 000 to R700 000

Cost Analysis

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update standard costing models and product costs.
  • Review and analyse manufacturing variances, including material, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Manage BOM costing and ensure costing accuracy across products.
  • Monitor and reconcile WIP, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and financial reporting.
  • Partner with production and operations teams to improve cost efficiencies and manufacturing performance.
  • Assist with month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations.
