A leading sustainability consultancy operating within the green building and high-performance built environment sector is seeking a Senior Modelling Consultant to join its technical modelling and simulation team.
This organisation focuses on transforming the built environment through advanced energy modelling, performance simulation, and sustainable design advisory across commercial, institutional, and complex infrastructure projects. The role sits at the intersection of technical excellence, sustainability innovation, and strategic consulting within the growing green building industry.
This is a senior technical leadership role suited to professionals who combine deep modelling expertise with advisory capability and the ability to influence design and sustainability outcomes at project and organisational level.
Role Overview
The Senior Modelling Consultant will act as the technical authority for modelling methodologies, ensuring quality, consistency, and strategic alignment across performance modelling outputs.
The role blends:

- Technical leadership and mentorship
- Client advisory and stakeholder engagement
- Innovation and strategic development within sustainability consulting
The successful candidate will translate complex technical modelling results into clear, decision-ready insights for clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance
- Ensure technical integrity and accuracy of modelling deliverables
- Establish and maintain modelling standards and QA/QC processes
- Review and approve modelling outputs and reports
- Provide solutions to complex or non-standard modelling challenges
Advanced Performance Modelling
- Develop and oversee advanced energy and performance models
- Apply building physics principles to sustainability and efficiency challenges
- Align modelling outputs with certification frameworks and performance targets
- Provide strategic interpretation of modelling results
Client Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as trusted technical advisor to clients and project teams
- Participate in client engagements, technical presentations, and proposals
- Support business development through technical expertise
People Leadership
- Mentor and develop modelling consultants and junior team members
- Allocate work and review technical outputs
- Support performance development and technical growth
Strategy & Innovation
- Drive innovation in modelling tools, workflows, and methodologies
- Contribute to technical strategy and continuous improvement
- Support thought leadership and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Required Experience
- Minimum 5+ years within the green building, sustainability, or high-performance building industry
- Proven experience in performance modelling and simulation within the built environment
- Strong knowledge of building physics and energy modelling principles
- Experience working across diverse building typologies and complex sustainability projects
Education & Technical Background
- Degree in a built environment discipline (Engineering or related field preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in performance modelling tools (e.g. energy simulation platforms)
- Experience with Net Zero, sustainable design, or high-performance buildings advantageous
