  • Establish KPIs to monitor supplier performance, cost efficiency, delivery reliability, and quality metrics.
  • Evaluate and source metal fabrication suppliers including machining, welding, stamping, casting, and finishing processes.
  • Interpret and review technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T to ensure supplier capability alignment.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Quality teams to support NPI (New Product Introduction) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure suppliers adhere to established quality control systems and regulatory standards.
  • Lead high-value contract negotiations, including pricing models, long-term agreements, and performance clauses.
  • Manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance, cost competitiveness, and risk protection.
  • Develop cost models and conduct should-cost analyses for fabricated and machined components.
  • Implement and maintain robust supplier quality management processes.
  • Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to manage corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team.
  • Develop succession planning and talent development strategies.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Sales.
  • Strategic sourcing and cost modeling
  • Technical literacy in metal fabrication processes

  • Negotiation and commercial structuring
  • Quality systems and compliance management
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Executive communication and leadership

Experience and Qualifications

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience sourcing metal fabricated and machined parts.
  • Proven success in complex contract negotiations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of quality control methodologies (ISO standards, Six Sigma, SPC, PPAP).
  • Experience managing global supplier networks.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (strongly preferred).
