We are seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially driven executive to lead and scale a growing mobile and temporary power business across Africa.

This is not a traditional corporate CEO role. We are looking for a hands-on builder who is energised by identifying opportunities, winning business, developing markets, building teams and turning a strong business concept into a significant African operation.

The business provides mobile and temporary power solutions to customers operating in environments where reliable grid power is unavailable, unreliable or still being developed. Its markets include mining, construction, infrastructure, industrial operations, events, film production and remote sites, with significant growth potential across Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall commercial and strategic growth of the business across Africa.

  • Identify new markets, customers and revenue opportunities.

  • Develop and execute a strong sales and business development strategy.

  • Build relationships with senior decision-makers across major mining and industrial groups.

  • Drive expansion into Francophone West and Central Africa.

  • Build, develop and lead high-performing commercial and operational teams.

  • Develop partnerships and strategic relationships that accelerate growth.

  • Lead commercial negotiations, contracts and major customer engagements.

  • Oversee operational delivery while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and profitability.

  • Develop the organisational capability required to scale the business sustainably.

  • Balance strategic leadership with a willingness to get involved in execution when required.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a builder rather than a custodian. They will have demonstrated the ability to grow a business, division, market or operation rather than simply manage an established corporate structure.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven commercial and sales leadership experience.

  • A strong track record of business development and revenue growth.

  • Experience building teams and organisational capability.

  • An entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership style.

  • Experience operating across multiple African markets.

  • Strong understanding of industrial, infrastructure or energy environments.

  • Significant mining sector exposure.

  • Experience selling complex, solution-based products or services.

  • Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.

  • The ability to engage confidently with C-suite and senior mining executives.

  • The ability to operate strategically while remaining close to the detail and execution.

  • Fluency in English and French.

Mining & Africa Experience

Mining is a major strategic growth area for the business. The ideal candidate should understand the realities of mining operations and the challenges associated with developing projects in remote locations.

They should be comfortable understanding a customer's operational problem and translating that into a commercially viable power solution.

Experience across Francophone Africa is particularly valuable, including markets such as:

Culture & Leadership
