Impact & ESG Manager - Renewable Energy | Ghana

We are seeking an experienced Impact & ESG Manager to lead the organisation's environmental, social, governance, impact measurement, and compliance agenda across a growing renewable energy portfolio in West Africa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company's ESG framework and Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS), ensuring alignment with IFC Performance Standards, EDFI Environmental & Social Standards, the 2X Challenge, and Development Finance Institution (DFI) requirements.

The role will lead ESG risk management, climate risk assessments, environmental and social due diligence, impact measurement and management, greenhouse gas accounting (Scopes 1, 2 & 3), stakeholder engagement, grievance mechanisms, gender and inclusion initiatives, and quarterly and annual ESG reporting for investors and lenders. You will also prepare impact reports, support fundraising activities, respond to investor ESG questionnaires, and contribute to external ESG communications.

In addition, you will oversee Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) systems, including safety management, audits, emergency preparedness, incident investigations, and continuous improvement across operational sites. The role also includes responsibility for KYC/AML compliance, sanctions screening, anti-bribery processes, supplier ESG performance, and ensuring compliance with evolving ESG regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

This is a highly hands-on role requiring the review of existing systems, implementation of improved ESG processes, development of policies and procedures, delivery of training, and support for teams to embed ESG best practice throughout the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, development finance, impact investing, or sustainability, together with strong knowledge of international ESG frameworks, impact measurement methodologies, and investor reporting requirements.
