Title: Senior Manager - Project Finance and M&A

About the Role

As a Senior Manager within a Project Finance & M&A advisory team, you will play a central role in transaction execution and client delivery. The position offers exposure to impactful energy and infrastructure transactions, with responsibility for leading advisory mandates related to financial structuring, debt raising, and equity or M&A financing processes. You will act as a primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex assignments while applying strong analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving approaches.

The team operates across the full lifecycle of renewable energy and energy transition projects, providing services including development equity advisory, mergers and acquisitions, debt advisory, and strategic support. Projects span multiple technologies such as solar PV, onshore and offshore wind, energy storage, hydrogen, and broader decarbonisation initiatives. You will join a collaborative and internationally connected environment, working closely with colleagues across multiple regions.

This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth, combining hands-on project execution with involvement in commercial development activities at both local and regional levels. Role and Responsibilities

Taking responsibility for advisory missions e.g. relating to financial structuring, raising required debt or supporting M&A equity finance transactionsLeading the interactions with clients, banks and other project stakeholdersSupervising financial analysts on the development and management of financial models and cash flow valuations for renewable energy projectsOverseeing due diligence processes including work prepared by your internal team (associates and analysts) and by other advisorsGathering of market intelligence on sectors of interest to the company such as electricity markets, debt markets or venture capital marketsParticipating actively in the business development in Germany and the wider EMEA region by proactively maintaining relationships with existing clients, developing your network and reaching out to new potential clientsBeing active in sharing knowledge internally within the local, regional and international teamActive participation in an entrepreneurial, international and dynamic team focused on making projects happen and going the extra mile for the client

Requirements and Experience

Master's or similar degree, preferably in Finance or Engineering.8+years of relevant work experience and a proven interest for renewable energies.Fluency in English and German (written and spoken)Excellent analytical skills and the ability to learn quicklyA strong understanding of and mastering of financial concepts and products, and financial modelling techniques for PF & M&A transactionsAbility to communicate complex ideas with ease and simplicityThe ability to work in a fast-paced environmentInitiative, ownership and accountability for allocated tasksThe ability to work in cross-border teams with a willingness to travel abroadEmpathy and willingness to understand the needs and aspirations of relevant stakeholdersProfessional experience in the renewable energy sector and project and/or corporate finance Read less

About the Role

As an Analyst on the project finance & M&A deal team, you will be right in the middle of all the action. You will be working on impactful transactions and will be accountable for the smooth execution of advisory missions relating to financial structuring, raising required debt or leading M&A equity finance transactions. This is the ideal job for you to apply your analytical skills and curiosity for out-of-the-box solutions.

You will be joining a growing Hamburg-based team of around 15 and work in close collaboration with colleagues in Africa, Americas, Asia, and Europe on our projects.

Supporting the project manager in defining and implementing the adequate financial structureCreating, updating or reviewing financial models and cash flow valuations for renewable energy projectsOrganising and reviewing the due diligence work prepared by other advisorsPerforming general market intelligence on sectors of interest to the companyContributing to business developmentParticipating actively in an entrepreneurial, international and dynamic team focused on making projects happen and adding real value to our clients

Experience and Requirements:

Master's or similar degree in finance or engineering from an internationally renowned institution. 1 to 2 years of experience in project finance and/or M&A within the energy transition sector is preferable.
