Smart4Energy is supporting a major mining operation in the appointment of an experienced Executive Commercial & Business Services leader to take accountability for one of the most strategically important portfolios within the organisation.

This opportunity extends well beyond traditional finance leadership.

The successful executive will assume responsibility for a broad commercial and business services portfolio, providing strategic leadership across Finance, Tax, Supply Chain, Technology, Payroll, Business Performance, Camp & Facilities, Insurance, Fixed Assets and operational support functions.

The role requires an individual capable of balancing operational performance, financial discipline, commercial strategy, governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and long term value creation within a complex, large scale mining environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive Commercial LeadershipDrive the commercial and financial performance of a large scale mining operation.Partner with executive leadership on strategic business planning, operational performance and profitability initiatives.Contribute directly to business strategy, growth plans and shareholder value creation.Challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational optimisation.Commercial & FinanceLead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and business performance reporting.Drive financial governance, compliance and risk management initiatives.Ensure effective capital allocation and prudent financial management across the business.Oversee financial reporting, management accounting, tax and treasury activities.Supply Chain & Commercial OperationsLead a significant supply chain and procurement function supporting a large operational environment.Drive supplier performance, commercial relationships and procurement governance.Ensure alignment between operational requirements, procurement strategy and commercial objectives.Business Services & TechnologyProvide executive oversight across technology, payroll, facilities and shared services functions.Drive automation, digital transformation and systems optimisation initiatives.Ensure business services functions support operational efficiency and long term growth objectives.Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain relationships with shareholders, lenders, government stakeholders, auditors, suppliers and executive leadership teams.Act as a trusted advisor on commercial, operational and financial matters.What We're Looking For
