Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in organizing, planning, and supervising mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance activities across plant assets. This position involves managing contractor teams, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, coordinating resource allocation, and supporting the execution of both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and prioritize maintenance workload based on Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) requests, contractor availability, and job urgency.Assign tasks to maintenance contractors and issue work permits related to installation, maintenance, repairs, piping and structural modifications.Coordinate with contractors and ensure availability of necessary equipment (e.g., cranes, forklifts) to carry out the tasks efficiently.Monitor execution of maintenance work, participating hands-on in complex installation, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.Raise material and spare parts requisitions; submit for supervisor approval.Inspect and test completed work to ensure it conforms to industry standards and specifications; prepare and submit reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.Assist in planning and execution of preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance, including major equipment turnarounds.Coordinate maintenance of control systems and auxiliary equipment including DCS, truck loading automation, CCTV, and fire safety systems.Support safety, housekeeping, and environmental practices; propose improvements and ensure compliance with fire and safety regulations.Assist in materials receiving and inspection; assess compatibility and condition of supplied components and escalate non-compliance.Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental irregularities to the supervisor.Participate in HSE meetings and contribute to the ongoing safety culture.Promote efficiency, professionalism, and courteous conduct across departments.Foster positive inter-departmental relationships and represent the company with a high standard of conduct.Demonstrate pride in personal appearance and the workplace while upholding company values.Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.Participate in training and development programs as required by management.Carry out any additional duties within capability as requested by senior leadership.Ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with legal, regulatory, and internal company standards.Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Demonstrated experience in the repair, maintenance, and testing of a wide range of static mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.Strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to respond effectively in a dynamic operational environment.Read less
