A leading global energy technology organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Grid Technologies Service to lead and grow its service business across Southern and Eastern Africa. This is a strategic leadership role for a commercially astute and technically strong professional with deep expertise in transmission and distribution (T&D), grid technologies, and energy infrastructure services.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will lead the regional Grid Technologies Service business, driving business growth, operational performance, customer engagement, and strategic execution across the Southern and Eastern African market.

The role combines P&L leadership, commercial management, technical expertise, and people leadership, with responsibility for expanding the regional service portfolio while ensuring operational excellence and strong stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Strategy

Develop and implement the regional Grid Technologies Service strategy and action planDrive business growth, profitability, and long‑term market developmentAlign regional service offerings with customer requirements and market opportunities

Commercial & Operational Management

Lead the regional service organisation to achieve financial and operational targetsSupport service sales, acquisition strategies, negotiations, and customer engagementEnsure effective collaboration across regional and global business units

Technical & Market Leadership

Provide leadership across transmission and grid technologies service activitiesSupport projects and customers within the T&D and power grid environmentContribute to the transition toward more reliable, digital, and sustainable grid infrastructure

People & Stakeholder Management

Develop and lead high‑performing multicultural teamsBuild strong stakeholder relationships across customers, internal teams, and partnersFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

Governance, Safety & Compliance

Promote the highest standards of safety and integritySupport compliance, operational governance, and quality standardsDrive a strong "Zero Harm" safety culture across operations

Minimum Requirements

Degree in Engineering (essential)Additional qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Management advantageousMinimum 5 years' experience in the transmission and grid technologies sectorProven experience leading a P&L or operational business unitStrong commercial experience across sales, acquisition, and negotiation
