- Support legacy systems through firmware and design updates to maintain performance and compatibility
- Provide input into the development of new products that meet evolving market requirements
- Oversee system integration testing, including FAT and SAT, to ensure functionality and stability
- Conduct performance validation under varying operational conditions
- Develop and deliver training programs for internal stakeholders including support, sales, and engineering teams
- Monitor and report on trends in BESS, hybrid systems, augmentation, and end-of-life strategies
- Recommend technology updates for future product development
- Define product quality standards and implement systems for tracking and improving performance using analytics and customer feedback
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience:
- 5+ years in battery systems engineering with focus on BESS, BMS, or renewable energy
- Proven experience in BESS design, integration, and system testing
- Working knowledge of EMS/microgrid integration and firmware support
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SANS, NRS)
Key Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of BMS, inverters, thermal management, and system packaging
- Hands-on experience with system integration into EMS and microgrids
- Understanding of hybrid systems, augmentation strategies, and battery end-of-life management
- Technical leadership in driving BESS innovation and development
- Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Capable of developing and delivering technical training
- Adaptable and proactive in tracking and implementing new technologies
